The Boat: With six guest rooms, two bathrooms, a large screened in deck and comfortable dining room and living room, the Katolinat gives us all the comforts of home, even in one of the most remote areas in the world.

Life on a Boat: When people read about a "wildlife cruise", they often think of a large ship with regimented schedules, seasickness and the inability to "touch" Alaska. Nothing could be farther from the truth aboard the Katolinat.

• Seasickness: While Naknek Lake can become rough at times, we have the ability to anchor in beautiful, protected coves. You won't get "green" as you will only be aboard the boat for meals and sleep. Our time will be spent discovering the real Alaska. Sleeping in these serene coves will only produce gentle movements that you cannot feel and will make you sleep like a baby.
• Schedule: On large cruise ship, their main objective is to get as many people on board and control the itineraries of their captive audience. We believe in the need to explore. Your guide will be happy to take you wherever you would like to go and see whatever you would like to see.
