Justin R. Gibson: 8 Years of Brown Bear Experience, Safely Guided more than 4000 Clients without Incident, Wilderness First Responder Certified, Wildlife Biology Degree, Published Wildlife Photographer.
Justin has had an obsession for bears ever since a juvenile black bear brushed against him at the age of twelve. "I was just sitting on a lake shore in Colorado and I felt something moving behind me. I don't think there's much mystery as to why I do what I do for a living. After that Black Bear, I was hooked. It's almost like it was meant to be." Graduating at the University of Alaska with a Wildlife Biology degree, he has worked as a Park Ranger and Brown Bear Viewing Guide for the last eight years. "Katmai is like heaven for me. I have been fascinated with bears since I was a kid and to watch 30 different bears on one river, fighting and jockeying for the best fishing spots... there is nothing in this world I can see myself doing for a living more fullfilling that this. It might sound cliche but I really do wake up every morning excited to do my job."
In the offseason, Justin spends his time traveling around the globe photographing wildlife and unique cultures.
